Canberra Health Services (CHS) is responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, effective and person-centred care. We are a team of over 8,200 people administering a range of publicly funded health facilities, programs and services, including but not limited to:
• Canberra Hospital
• University of Canberra Hospital
• Six community health centres:
• Five walk-in centres
• Community-based health services
In a typical week, our facilities see:
• Nearly 1,600 people at the Emergency Department of which nearly 600 are admitted to hospital
• Nearly 65 babies born
• More than 1,600 inpatient episodes of care provided
• More than 400 people arrive by ambulance
• More than 2,200 visits to our Walk-in Centres
